Frequently Asked Questions

Does your practice offer free consultation calls?

Yes! All of our providers offer 30 minute free consultation zoom meetings to meet with clients to see if you are a good fit for each other. We prefer zoom calls rather than phone calls so we can virtually meet face to face! In this meeting, you and your potential provider will get to know each other a bit, your provider will learn your therapy history, your current goals for therapy and anything else you would like to share with them! This is also a time for you to ask your provider any questions. This call is also for them to make sure they will be the most helpful and appropriate provider for you. If your provider feels like they may not be the right fit for you, they will provide you some referrals!

What does it mean if a therapist is an “Associate” and “under supervision”?

To become a licensed clinician in the state of California, therapists must graduate from their masters’ program and then accumulate 3,000 hours of clinical and non clinical work under a licensed clinician’s supervision. All of my associates have almost 2,000 hours already accumulated and are amazing therapists that I trust immensely to be working under my license and in my practice. Associates do share client information with only me, their supervisor, in private supervision, to make sure that clients are receiving the best possible care, so clients do sign additional consents to allow associates to share information with their supervisor. This is a great opportunity for clients to receive amazing collaborative care for a lower fee and for clinicians to gain experience.

How do I know which provider to contact for a consult call?

Feel free to reach out to Alexis, the founder of this practice if you have general questions and she can point you to which provider would be the best fit. Also, feel free to take a look at each provider’s profile and see who specializes in the topics you are wanting to explore in therapy. This is the reason for the complementary consult call too so you can feel out a provider and see if they are a match for you!

How much are your session fees and does your practice take insurance?

Our practice is not paneled with insurance, which means all clients must pay their provider out of pocket at the time of their session. Providers can provide clients superbills to submit to their insurance for potential reimbursement, however that is not guaranteed and it is up to the client to check with their insurance regarding out of networking reimbursement.

Providers’ fees:

Alexis Jarrell, LMFT: $250/session for individual sessions, $350/session for family sessions, $300/session for EMDR sessions

Stella Liang, AMFT: $150/ session for individual sessions, $165/session for family sessions

Angelica Cruz, AMFT: $150/ session for individual sessions, $165/session for couples sessions

Victoria Marohn, AMFT: $150/ session for individual sessions, $165/session for family sessions, $165/ session for EMDR sessions

Associates do have some sliding scale spots available, so please discuss any financial concerns with them before assuming that you cannot work together based on listed fees.

As parents of a minor in therapy, do we get to know anything that is going on?

Of course, therapeutic rapport and client confidentiality is extremely important. I will not share details of my work with minors with their parents, however I am very open with clients and parents that because I work from a family systems and attachment lens, I don’t believe therapy can be effective unless the work continues at home. So, with minor clients I do send general updates of themes and skills we are working on to parents. Of course if there are any safety issues or disclosures that require me to breach confidentiality due to being a mandated reporter, I will do so.

How do you make sure teens are engaged in zoom therapy?

I have found that often teens (and adults alike!) are as likely to open up and be vulnerable online, as that is what we have become accustomed to, especially in the last few years. We strive to make my sessions with teens engaging, creative and collaborative and tailor it to the maturity level of the teen and what their interests are. We have not found that virtual therapy is a hindrance to the therapeutic work at all. Especially with how busy kids are these days, it is so nice for teens and families to not worry about another activity to commute to as well!

Do you offer any in person sessions?

Yes! Due to increased recent demand for in person session availability, we now have ability to see clients in offices in both Santa Monica and Beverly Hills.
